The Profile
Feb. 27th, 2011 05:47 pmStory pending as soon as I can manage to write it out to my satisfaction. Meanwhile:
*Samson comes from a Nuzlocke playthrough. In his world, pokemon battling usually ends in major or permanent injury to the loser, if not death. Knocking out an opponent's pokemon without doing serious damage is something that usually only happens by chance or to inexperienced newbie trainers.
*Sam is out to change all this.
His primary reason for continuing his journey is to prove to the world that it's possible for a top-tier pokemon trainer to win- and win entertainingly- without causing casualties. He's still working on perfecting the technique, though, and occasionally accidents still happen. He tries very hard to remember every one of them.
*As of arriving at Cinnabar Island, Samson has had only two casualties- a Diglett named Garfunkel and a Golduck named Starkey. The loss of Garfunkel was painful even though he'd had her for barely an hour, but losing Starkey, who had by then become part of his core team, shook his confidence even as it reinforced his convictions that the killings need to end.
*Sam doesn't have a very high opinion of other trainers, especially those who seem to be doing it for fun or who call their team their 'friends'. In his opinion, REAL friends don't risk their friends lives for sport.
...people who work with pokemon in any other capacity, though, are generally pretty awesome.
*He doesn't particularly care for Fighting-types, either. Between the Machokes which killed Starkey and the bloodthirsty temperament of his own Hitmonlee, he's come to view them all as potentially dangerous.
*He LOVES music. He doesn't have any particular aptitude for it nor any real technical vocabulary, but it's the second biggest joy in his life, after his team. He keeps a pair of headphones on him and whenever he's not actively engaged in a conversation with someone (including most of his pokemon battles), he'll usually be listening to something.

Backtagging: Go right ahead!
Threadhopping: Generally okay, but poke me and/or my thread parther if you're not sure.
Fourthwalling: Only at Dear Mun and memes, please.
Hugging/kissing: Might fluster him a bit, but sure.
Flirting: Same as for hugging/kissing.
Fighting: Human-on-human fighting is okay with me unless there's going to be major injury involved. Pokemon battling is generally fine too, so long as the violence stays within the boundaries of normal game/anime canon. For battles with more serious consequences, please PM me first.
Injury: Again, talk to me before seriously hurting him or his team.
